Are you familiar with the Program For a safe maternity experience?
The objective of the For a Safe Maternity Experience Program (SMEP) is to allow a pregnant or breastfeeding worker.
If the worker's work involves danger to her child's health or to herself
because of her pregnancy, the worker may benefit from the SMEP program, either
through the implementation of :
- an assignment to other tasks or another position;
- a preventive withdrawal, if the assignment is impossible.
It is recommended that the worker discuss her situation with the professional performing
her pregnancy or postnatal follow-up, and with her employer.
